Tebaiti Redfern is from the Kiribati outer islands of Makin, Onotoa, and Abaiang. 

Tebaiti obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management from the University of the South Pacific and is a board member of Tungaru Youth Action (TYA). She has held positions at the Office of the President including as an assistant climate change officer and, presently, as the acting secretary of the Office of the President.

Tebaiti wants to play a central role in managing how Kiribati embraces climate initiatives, to ensure successful and tangible outcomes, considering the country’s unique context and needs.
