PNG Regional Youth Summit
PNG Regional Youth Summit 2026 brings together emerging young leaders from across Papua New Guinea, Australia and the Pacific for four days of leadership development, networking and regional collaboration in East New Britain Province. From 14–17 September 2026, participants aged 18–40 will connect, exchange ideas, explore regional issues and develop practical skills to create positive change in their communities and beyond.

Connected but Disconnected: Understanding Social Media Addiction and Reclaiming Our Attention
On 31 July 2026, the Pacific-Australia Youth Association (PAYA), in collaboration with United States Department of State Young Pacific Leaders Program (YPLP) Alumni Phillie Julai Marai, will host a Freedom 250 Alumni event at the American Space, National Library & Archives in Waigani.
The session will explore the growing impact of social media on young people’s attention, wellbeing, relationships and everyday lives.
The presentation will encourage young people to critically reflect on their relationship with technology and consider how they can reclaim their time, attention and presence in an increasingly connected world.

East New Britain Early Childhood Book Donation Initiative
From 19–25 July 2026, PAYA will join partners across East New Britain to support early childhood literacy through book donations, educational awareness and teacher engagement.
The initiative will provide children with greater access to books while creating opportunities to engage Early Childhood educators and strengthen learning foundations across the province.
Together, we aim to inspire a love of reading and support brighter futures for children in East New Britain.

Samoa Youth Blood Drive Day
PAYA Supports the National Blood Drive Initiative in Samoa
On 14 June 2026, PAYA will support the National Blood Drive Initiative in Samoa, bringing together young people, community members and organisations to promote voluntary blood donation and the importance of giving back.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of the need for safe and sustainable blood supplies while encouraging a new generation of young people to become regular voluntary blood donors. The event will provide an opportunity for youth organisations, schools, churches, government agencies, community organisations and members of the public to come together around a shared purpose: saving lives through service.
Through its support, PAYA hopes to inspire young Pacific Islanders to take meaningful action in their communities and recognise the powerful difference that one simple act of giving can make.

Empowering Quality Teaching: Strengthening Integral Human Development in Early Childhood and Elementary Education
Romen Grammar School and PAYA are partnering to deliver a two-week training workshop for early childhood and elementary teachers in East New Britain. The program builds capacity in inclusive education, life skills, and Integral Human Development. Week 1 covers theory-based training, while Week 2 provides hands-on classroom practice.
