Tayla Bond
Having been immersed primarily with a Nauruan upbringing, Tayla had an inborn affection towards her homeland and this heartiest desire to give back to her community in any form she can. She graduated from St Michael's Grammar School in Melbourne, Australia, in 2017. After her studies, she returned to Nauru and stepped into community work and services.
Tayla has spent over five years offering services to her nation’s people that includes, “The Lil Vahines”, the first ever young girls (aged 3 to 16 years of age) dance program. In 2018 she launched her own jewellery line known as Bond Jewellery. Tayla was also part of the Nauruan Government’s Reimagining Tourism on Nauru initiative and represented the private business sector on the Nauru Tourism Board from 2019 to 2021.
Tayla entered the Miss Nauru Eita Dabug pageant in 2020 and placed First Runners Up. In 2020, she also founded ‘Clean the Deep’ which is an environmental action campaign promoting clean oceans. Tayla attended the One Young World Summit in Manchester, England, in 2022. Recently, she enrolled at RMIT University in Melbourne to study Business and is writing children's books in the Nauruan language. Her first book is called “You Can Count to Ten in Nauruan”.
