Lafaele is a first-generation born Tongan from Sydney, Australia. After graduating High School in 2020, Lafaele went on to study for a Bachelor of Law at the Australian Catholic University. In 2021, he was nominated as a co-director of the Mackillop Law Students Society. He maintains this position still today.

In 2022, he was able to represent Twinnies Brand, the first Tongan author-publication entity during HRH Angelika Tuku'aho's royal book tour. Lafaele also attended the Inaugural PAYA Youth Leadership Summit held in New Caledonia as a Youth Delegate.

He has the aim to create greater equitable resources to better address the development of Pasifika communities in his capacity as a Justice of the Peace, with a strong focus on Pasifika education.
