Karamaniti Maereia I Tekaa is a proud I-Kiribati with a passion for education, charity, and leadership. Karamaniti is currently studying a Bachelor in Business Management through BYU-Idaho.

Upon completing high school, Karamaniti served an LDS church mission in Auckland, New Zealand for 18 months. She has served a role as the financial account officer in the Kiribati Ministry of Women, Youth, Sport and Social Affairs.

Karamanti is currently working as a teacher and a loan collection coordinator for Kindling Kiribati, a non-profit organisation assisting small business development in Kiribati. As well as this, Karamaniti is a board member and the treasurer of Tungaru Youth Action (TYA).
