PNG Leadership and Mindset Transformation Workshop
On April 27th, 2024, the Pacific-Australia Youth Association (PAYA), in collaboration with the Papua New Guinea PAYA Family Committee, hosted an inspiring one-day Engagement Workshop with the theme “Leadership and Mindset Transformation.” Held at the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) Annex Building, this event brought together 30 enthusiastic participants from 9 AM to 4 PM, creating a vibrant space for learning, inspiration, and growth.
The workshop featured influential local speakers who shared their wisdom and experiences, focusing on leadership principles, personal development, and achieving organisational success. These presentations provided invaluable insights, motivating attendees to become more effective leaders in their communities. Esteemed leaders from Papua New Guinea led panel discussions, offering personal narratives on decision-making, effective communication, team building, and upholding personal values. These sessions allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of leadership in various contexts, enriching their perspectives.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in networking sessions, fostering connections and sharing experiences. Coffee breaks and informal discussions helped build a sense of community and collaboration, crucial for ongoing personal and professional development.
The live presentations and panel discussions left a lasting impression, inspiring attendees to lead with good values and strive for positive community impact. The energy and motivation generated during the workshop were palpable, encouraging participants to tackle new challenges with confidence. The networking opportunities were highly valued, with many participants forming new connections and expanding their professional networks. These relationships are expected to foster future collaborations and initiatives.
By the numbers, the workshop boasted one day of intensive learning with five presenters, three local panellists, 30 youth participants who became PAYA Members, and the support of 10 dedicated PNG team volunteers.
