Mālō tou ofa, Sinemoni: Celebrating Three Years of Service to PAYA

The Pacific-Australia Youth Association Inc. (PAYA) extends its sincere appreciation to Fiolino Sinemoni Mavaetau for three years of dedicated service to the PAYA Board.

Sinemoni joined the Board in 2023 and served as Treasurer and Board Director from 2023 to 2025, before continuing as a Board Director from 2025 to 2026.

Throughout his time with PAYA, Sinemoni brought an important voice from Uvea mo Futuna (Wallis and Futuna), while also helping PAYA strengthen its representation across the wider Polynesian region and the French Pacific.

His knowledge, perspective and commitment helped shape PAYA during an important period of growth for the organisation.

For Sinemoni, serving on the Board was also an opportunity to connect with people from across the Pacific and contribute to a shared vision for young people in our region.

Reflecting on his time with PAYA, Sinemoni described his Board service as a meaningful chapter of his journey and said he was proud to represent Uvea mo Futuna, Polynesia and the French Pacific territories.

After three years of service, Sinemoni made the decision to step down from the PAYA Board for personal reasons.

While his formal Board service has concluded, he remains a valued member of the PAYA Family, and the relationships built over the past three years will continue.

PAYA Founder and President Dominic de Moura McCarthy thanked Sinemoni for the time, energy and experience he contributed to the organisation.

Sinemoni’s contribution reflects something that sits at the heart of PAYA: our organisation is built by young Pacific leaders who give their time, experience and culture to something bigger than themselves.

From Uvea mo Futuna to Papua New Guinea, Australia and across our wider Blue Pacific region, every person who serves PAYA helps strengthen the connections between our communities.
