Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for the Pacific-Australia Youth Association consists of several stages, including:

  1. Position identification: The Co-Directors and Operations Manager will identify when a new position is required and the Operaitons Manager will develop a job description that outlines the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of the role.

  2. Candidate attraction: PAYA will advertise the open position on our website and relevant job boards, and may also reach out to our network of contacts to identify potential candidates.

  3. Application review: All applications will be reviewed by the Co-Directors, who will assess each candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience to determine if they meet the minimum requirements for the role.

  4. Interviews: Candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be invited to participate in an interview with the Co-Directors and other PAYA Management Committee Members where appropriate. This interview will provide an opportunity for the candidate to learn more about the role and the organisation and for the Co-Directors to assess the candidate's suitability for the role.

  5. Reference checks: Candidates who are deemed suitable after the interview stage will be subject to reference checks. This may include contacting the candidate's previous employers, colleagues, or other professional references.

  6. Offer and onboarding: If a candidate is selected for the role, the Operations Manager will extend a job offer and provide information on the onboarding process, including details on orientation, training, and other important details.
