Georgilla is from the island of Ambrym and Pentecost, a descendant of a high Chief Mal Meleun within West Ambrym from Ranu nasara (clan), the preservation of kastom, values and indigenous ties is of great importance to her and her family.

Georgilla is a young women’s representative within the Vanuatu Civil Society National Reference Group, she helps to provide strategic direction on the fund allocations and projected implementations for related areas of development work. One of her most passionate works is as a women’s rights and community activist working collaboratively within a network of civil society groups to end violence against women and young girls. 

Georgilla is currently working at the Vanuatu Family Health Association as a Communications and Advocacy Coordinator, where her team is building a coalition pilot of youth advocates across Vanuatu. She aims to see an improvement in women’s health in Vanuatu.
